Better late than never...

Hi everyone :) We finally figured out how to work this thing.. anyway, looks and sounds like you are all doing great so far, good job! So, we started the diet a little late and still haven't really gotten into a regular exercise routine, but we're making some better choices and looking forward to some good exercise in the near future.. :) But after weighing in today, Brent's down 8 lbs, and Katy's down 4 lbs. We're pretty excited to see what'll happen once we get going hard core!

HEY ALL YOU GUYS IN "LOSER LAND" I just had my bubble bursted...I have been getting all these checks, and I figuered they were all late birthday presents from march 18...not so....but I have been eating out a lot and since I need to gain weight, and I did pick up 5 lbs. Now I find out I need to report to you all where the biggest loser stands...in a few days I will post an update.
Right now I am going to have a big chocolate sundae....with lots of whip creme...my second one today...lol Love you all....GRANDPA

Melanie's Week 2 Update

I just got home from WW and I'm really bummed out. I gained 0.2 pounds :( . I'm especially discouraged because this was my first full week of no Diet Dr. Pepper and I went to the gym four times and had a good workout. Those were both two major improvements for me too. I don't know what happened. Maybe I got "comfortable" since I lost my first 10 pounds. All I can say is you can bet your bottom dollar that this week I'm going to be SO strict with myself and kick things up a notch! I need to power through this!!! Wish me luck! :)

Week one on the Newleywed front.

WOW. What a hard week to start Grandpa's losers. So, being a newlywed wife, I'm trying to make dinners, and desserts, and all that jazz. We took our starting weight last Thursday, I was at 117.1 Lbs, and Rob was at 203.9 Lbs. After getting our Easter baskets (which is not an easy thing to do the first week of a diet. Lets just say, I put a lot of Candy in Rob's basket because I didn't know what else to put. I did put a journal in it, to kind of redeem myself.) Anyway, he found his basket early, and got it on Saturday. So that is when the candy started. Then on Sunday morning, we made breakfast for our good friends, and we ate it all. It was so good, and I didn't want to stop eating it. Then on Monday I made German Pancakes because Rob was off work, then that night, I made Mom's Chicken Parmesan, and it turned out very well. I made a whole pan of it, hoping we could have left overs for lunch. well..... After Tony and Loni and us.... There wasn't any left. However, I made brownies from scratch, and they didn't turn out! that was a sad day, but it was good because of grandpa's losers. Anyway, after Monday, we had fajitas, and a pot roast. As far as exercise, I have not done any, we did go on a short walk to Wal-Mart to return a red box. We decided to go on a walk every night, but then the weather turned against us. So we didn't go again. Rob is more dedicated than I am. He lifts weights almost, if not every night, and I catch him doing sit-ups and what not while I take a brake from reading (I would rather read, which is terrible!) Now, its a week later. What was our final weight after this week? Well, I am now at 114.9 Lbs -(down 2.2 lbs) , and Rob is at 200.3 Lbs-(down 3.6 lbs) YAY! I don't know how we did it, but I'm just glad we didn't gain, or maintain. I know we can do better at eating, and exercising, but this week was hard with Easter, and being newlyweds. I want to be the cute wife who has dinner made when Rob gets home from work, and I don't want to just make a salad or something. But this week, I want to do better, I hope the weather is nice, I enjoyed our walk, it was exercise, and it was a good way to relax at night and just talk. I want to start to go running, but I think we will have to wait until I wont pass out, because I'm out of shape. Either way, we are trying, and just wait everyone, we will take this when we really start trying! Good luck everyone! and remember to have fun doing it!

Al and Shelly got off to a late start. We had family visiting and that usually means EAT* EAT* EAT! But the cupboards are bare of any goodies and McKay purposely DID NOT receive Easter candy and was taken shopping for clothes instead. We are going to give you all some stiff competition and just so you all know we tape the real "Biggest Loser" and we are motivated! The hardest part is weaning from those little chocolates that make their way into candy dishes around here. To tell you something pathetic I (Shelly) know where grandpa keeps his stash and while they were out running errands I found myself staring at it contemplating theft!! To see how well you all know me the question is, Did Shelly steal candy from grandpa? or was her willpower too strong to stoop to such levels? I can't wait for your answers..................good luck to all and good job MEL!!!

Watch out! Here comes Melanie!

Wahooooo! I (Melanie) weighed in tonight at WW (Weight Watchers) and I lost 2.8 pounds last week! Grandpa gave me permission to weigh in on Mondays instead of Thursdays because I was already going to WW AND I don't have a scale. :) Anyways, I'm really proud of myself because I worked hard to eat what I was suppose to. I have also given up my Diet Dr. Pepper! :( Let me tell you, I've NEVER experienced a migraine before until this last weekend. It started Sat. and left today, NOT FUN! I slept all weekend and I even took a sick day today...seriously. Oh well, it's for a good cause...to be HEALTHY! Yeah for me!

Just because I'm excited and want to share, since I started WW in January, I've LOST 11.2 pounds! Don't worry, only 2.8 of that counts for Grandpa's Losers so far!
